Field Day 2019

Field day will be held this year Friday June 7th with the rain date being Monday June 10th. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for outdoor physical activity. This includes sneakers, short clothing, hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen. We also ask that each student brings a water bottle to carry around with them for the day. Water will be provided by the school as well, but having your own will increase hydration and allow field day to run smoother. Field day activities will begin in the morning and end at 11:30AM. At 11:30AM line dancing will begin in which parents are invited to come and watch. After line dancing our school picnic will begin at 12:00pm and go until 1:00PM. Parents are also invited to join our school picnic. Please make sure that your child brings a bagged lunch to school or has arrangements to receive lunch during the picnic because the cafeteria will not be serving lunch that day. Students also are asked to wear a grade color t-shirt which is listed below. The t-shirt does not have to be any specific shade of the color or entirely that color. As long as most of the t-shirt is the grade color it’s acceptable. This will be the final event of the year for the AH Curriculum Olympics.  I hope to see you all at Field Day on the Friday, June 7th.

Eastchester Spirit Gear

E
The Eastchester Student Athletic Council has just launched an online store! Most of the gear is Under Armour with our district’s athletic logos. The students added items that they thought our younger students, fans, faculty, and alumni would like to wear to show their EAGLE PRIDE! This online only store will close on May 29th and all orders will ship to your homes. Please click here to visit our store and GO EAGLES!

Spring Concert and Arts Exhibition

Bravo! Our 4th and 5th grade members of the orchestra, band, and chorus dazzled on Monday evening! Together with the many families in attendance, I was so proud of their wonderful performances and the debut of our jazz band was a fantastic addition to the program! Congratulations once again to our young musicians and many thanks to our music teachers, Suzanne Greene and Doug Zantay, for preparing our students so well!

The Arts Festival looked beautiful in the Anne Hutch gymnasium! Families and students enjoyed viewing the many artworks created under the expert guidance of our excellent art teacher, Gina Zohar. Thank you to our PTA, especially the Japanese Activities Committee, as well as the custodial team for helping to set up and dismantle the show!

Owl Pellet Dissection Workshop

The Tuckahoe Public Library recently held their Annual Poetry Contest and we are very  proud to announce the following winners from Anne Hutchinson School: Alana Shea Bondi and Kiara Wasilewski, both 4th graders. Congratulations to Alana and Kiara, whose poems were selected from over 260 submitted by the many talented students in our community!

Donation to the Humane Society of Westchester

We are proud to share that 3rd graders, Samantha and Julia Kempkes, recently led a very successful donation campaign to benefit the Humane Society of Westchester in New Rochelle

Samantha and Julia engaged their teachers and friends at Anne Hutchinson School in donating blankets, pet beds, toys, cases of cat and dog food, leashes and even grooming supplies!

Important Reminder about Student Snacks

As a reminder, our classrooms are nut-free environments and all classroom snacks that are brought from home should be nut-free. If you provide food containing nuts in your child’s lunch, it may be eaten in the cafeteria, but please remind your child that it should not be eaten in the classroom. Teachers and monitors will be reminding and supervising the students at school as well. Thank you for your cooperation!
