Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving from Anne Hutchinson School! We are so grateful for our strong, supportive school community. Thank you to the many parent volunteers who came in this week to support our celebrations of gratitude across the school. We would like to recognize our 4th grade students, teachers, and parent volunteers for an amazing Operation Sandwich! 4th graders worked alongside teachers and parents to prepare over 150 bagged lunches for the soup kitchen at Hope Community Services.

LOST AND FOUND

As a gentle reminder, please make sure your child’s first and last name are on all of his or her belongings. Our Lost and Found is overflowing with unclaimed items, including hoodies, fleeces, hats, scarves, and even jackets!

Early Dismissal

School will dismiss at 11:30 am on Tuesday, November 19th for parent/teacher conferences. Please have a plan in place for your child.

Take the Challenge!!!!

In collaboration with the American Heart Association, 5th Grade Student Council has chosen The Kids Heart Challenge as our school’s Good Deed of the Month for November. The Kids Heart Challenge is a fun and exciting event where your child learns about their heart while helping others by raising money for the American Heart Association. It prepares your child for success through physical and emotional well-being. Through Kids Heart Challenge, kids learn jump rope skills, how their heart works and raise money to help kids with special hearts. Children have fun, learn how to stay healthy and make a difference in the lives of others!

Visit heart.org/KidsHeartChallenge, or search “Kids Heart Challenge” in your app store. Find Anne Hutchinson School and sign up! Our event will take place in P.E. class the week of November 18-27th.

November’s Focus: Gratitude

The month of November is a time of thanksgiving. It is a season when most of us pause to reflect on our lives and to appreciate the gifts of our health, our loving families and friends, and the wonderful experiences we share together in life. For this reason, Anne Hutchinson School chose to focus on the habit of gratitude for the month of  November. At our recent HEART Assembly, our school community made a commitment to the belief that gratitude is the best attitude.

We encourage our Anne Hutch families to join us in exploring how an attitude of gratitude will support us to truly engage in our learning and enjoy our lives more fully throughout the year. Consider giving out compliments, making a list of things you are grateful for or keeping a gratitude journal, volunteering in your community, or doing small, random acts of kindness. And, if all else fails, take comfort in knowing that simply smiling is an excellent way to demonstrate gratitude!
