The Boosterthon Fun Run is this week!
May 13th, 2019
The Fun Run is May 15th!
Good Deed Day is May 29th!
As you may have heard from your child, the word of the month for May is DETERMINED. We want to instill in our students the importance of trying, trying again, and never giving up! (Please check out the Book Corner each week for titles that emphasize this point.)
Our Good Deed of the month will be to support our Fun Run! It takes a lot of determination to run those laps! We are very excited to engage in the run on May 15th!
We will celebrate Good Deed Day on Wednesday, May 29th! During this time, we’ll sing a special song with Mrs. Ness about never giving up! (Be sure to have your child wear their red Waverly shirt!)

Scenes from Waverly’s Beautification Day on May 4th
Thanks to all of the families who came out to support our Beautification Day! Many children and parents were weeding, seeding, planting and painting. A hearty thanks goes out to Mrs. DeRise, The Waverly PTA, and The Facilities Department for the ongoing support! Check out additional photos under the PTA Corner.
First Grade Students will visit AH and GV
On Tuesday, June 4th, rising second graders who will attend Greenvale School will participate in orientation with their classmates and teachers. Parents are invited to Greenvale that evening at 6:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, June 5th, rising second graders who will attend Anne Hutchinson School will participate in a similar orientation with their classmates and teachers. Parents are invited to Anne Hutch that evening at 6:30 p.m.
If you will be moving and your child will no longer be attending Eastchester schools, please be sure to write a letter to inform our office as soon a possible. Thanks!
Visiting Waverly’s Playground
We are fortunate to have a great playground on which Waverly students are able to play during recess, as well as some of their physical education classes. With this in mind, please refrain from using the playground during school hours. This is particularly tempting when waiting for dismissal, so we appreciate your cooperation.
School District Registration
If you have an active voter registration on file with the county, then you are also registered for the school district.
If you are not registered with the county, you may register with the school district, in person, as long as you meet the following requirements. You must be:
• A citizen of the United States.
• 18 years old or more on the date of the vote.
• Lived in this school district for at least 30 days before the vote.
Please click here for the Eastchester School District Voter Registration Form. This allows a qualified voter to vote in school district votes only. Return forms to the District Clerk at 580 White Plains Road, Eastchester (Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm).
The deadline to register for the May 21, 2019 vote is Thursday, May 16, 2019 (by 4pm).
Westchester County Voter Registration
Qualified voters who register with Westchester County can vote in school district elections as well as other local and national elections. Registration applications are available locally in Eastchester Town Hall, Tuckahoe Village Hall, or go to http://www.elections.ny.gov/
Call 1-800-FOR-VOTE for additional information.
This is a two-step process. An Application for an Absentee Ballot must be filed first with the District Clerk, Jeanette Messina. Applications for absentee ballots may be obtained by contacting the District Clerk’s office at 580 White Plains Road, Phone: 793-6130, ext. 4211, Click here for the Application for Absentee Ballot.
Upon receipt by the District Clerk of a completed application, the voter will be given the actual ballot. If the actual ballot is to be given personally to the voter, it may be obtained up until 4:00 pm on the day before the vote.
For 2019-2020, the absentee ballot application needs to be received by 5/14/19 if the ballot is to be mailed; by 4pm on 5/20/19 if picking up the ballot in person. Ballots must be returned to the District Clerk by 5PM on 5/21/19, the day of the vote.

Eastchester Schools Kindergarten Registration for 2019-2020 School Year
Kindergarten Registration is open for children who turn five years of age on or before December 1, 2019. Tell your neighbors and friends!
Registering now guarantees that families will be able to attend Kindergarten Screening and Orientation. Many of their questions will be answered about life for a kindergarten student at Waverly and children will get a chance to play in our classrooms.
Kindly click on the link below. https://district.eastchesterschools.org/m2/mod/dataform/view.php?d=1&view=1&eids=80&ret=9
Once you have completed the application and all registration requirements, the registrar will review the application. Upon approval of the application, you will receive an email to schedule a 10 minute appointment with the Registrar to provide the original version of the supporting documents. Be sure to schedule that appointment to complete your child’s registration!
